The Obit, Vancouver Sun, Nov. 21 JOLLY - Chantal Lee
BAdmin, MMT, MTA, FAMI
Chantal was a beautiful, intelligent, empathetic, loving person, who was adored and cherished by all. She passed away peacefully, at the age of 45, on November 13th, surrounded by loving family, friends and music, after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Elin Jolly, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The world was blessed by Chantal’s birth on March 2nd, 1964 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. Introduced to swimming and music at the age of two, she showed a strong aptitude for both. Music became her greatest passion, enhanced by involvement with the Garden City music program. She would later earn awards and accolades for both her musical talents and mathematical prowess. Chantal’s love of numbers earned her a scholarship to the University of Manitoba where she completed a degree in Business Administration with honours. Chantal went on to work as an actuary student at North American Life for five years. When she found that a desk job was too confining, Chantal began exploring a degree in music. This took her to British Columbia, where she attained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Therapy at Capilano College. As a Music Therapist, she enriched the lives of people with mental illness and pioneered music therapy programs at a hospice and an alternative health facility for cancer care in the Lower Mainland. During these years, Chantal furthered her education by acquiring credentials in many alternative-healing techniques, including Guided Imagery in Music, Reiki, Psych K, Healing Touch, Sound Healing, and Reflexology. Chantal lived life to the fullest. She brought great joy to the lives of those around her. Her vivacious presence and energy lit up every room. Her quick wit and contagious laughter will always be remembered, and she will be greatly missed by all.
